E-Mail A Career Counselor (for Free)
August 1999 - June 2008

Jim Kell

This service has been discontinued as of June 30, 2008.

A word about what it was.
Jim Kell, one of the kindest souls in the world, and a graduate of a number of the "Two Week Workshops" that I used to offer every August, came to me in August of 1999, and he offered to do - - for no pay - - free career counseling by mail, to anyone browsing this site, who was perplexed and puzzled in their job-hunt. He was the perfect person for the job, as he has a brilliant mind, a lot of well-earned wisdom, and a tremendously compassionate heart, plus "stick-to-it-ive-ness". And, most to the point, he knew "Parachute" backwards and forwards, and every new edition each year. (I want to add much more about him, but his privacy is very important to him, so I will honor that.) And so, he began.

Along the way other people volunteered to help with this work, and we welcomed them, but after a time they had to admit it was an overwhelming, time-consuming task, that they could not keep up with. Only Jim persisted, year after year.

We kept track. From August 1999, until now, Jim has answered 13,000 such emails, purely as a public service and act of compassion for those in need.

Now, however, he has at last reached the age at which he wants to retire from doing this, in order to have time to pursue other priorities that have been put on hold, while he was doing this work.

Many who have corresponded with him will want to thank him from the bottom of their hearts for what he has done for them, as do I, a million times.
