If you still need more in the way of career counseling, you should take a look at all of the Career Offices on the Internet. There are essentially two kinds: career centers at the many colleges and universities, and the resources available from the various State governments. Though not traditionally renowned for their job-hunting acumen, many of the State EDD offices have improved mightily in the last few years. A few are surprisingly good.

This site has what appears to be a good list of career centers at various universities in the U.S. I am disappointed that the list appears not to have been updated since September of 2000; but most of the links appear to be good despite this.

You can access the Web pages of every U.S State Employment Office from this alphabetical list (well… mostly alphabetical. I always thought California came before Colorado).
