Online Job-Hunting Articles
The Web is now brimming to overflow with articles about job-hunting; as time passes, it’s becoming more difficult to find the ones that burn brightest in a field that tends to generate more heat than light. The ones I have listed here are all good, for various reasons. Note that more links to articles about Internet research, contacts, resumes, and job boards are in their respective chapters of this book.
The Truth About Online Job Hunting
Though not extensive or earth-shaking, this article is a good, basic primer on Internet job-hunting. More about attitudes than actions, the article will help to dispel a number of false assumptions, and point you down the right road.

You’ll find many helpful articles on The WSJ Web site, so be sure you explore it thoroughly.

Top Jobs Matching Your Interests and Needs
If you want some ideas for possible careers or jobs, you will find lists here like, “The Top 10 Jobs for People Who Can’t Stand Ties or Pantyhose”, or ““The Top 10 Jobs for People Who Like To Work With Their Hands”… like that.

Highest Paying Jobs
Lists of the jobs with the highest salaries (national averages, of course) for no college education, 2-year degree, 4 year, and Graduate Degree.

Assessing Your Skills and Accomplishments
A good article from the University of Wisconsin Web site.

Transferable Skills
From Quintcareers, an article series that details the concepts of Transferable Skills, with lists of skills and advice about how to emphasize these in your resumes and cover letters.

Common Job Search Misconceptions
A very good article, and, if you browse the Wetfeet site, you’ll find a lot more of the same caliber.

Informational Interviewing Tutorial
Another Quintcareers home run. One of the best & most complete articles (actually, it is a series of articles) on the subject available.
