Online Job-Hunting Guides
There are online job-hunting manuals everywhere on the Web. The general quality of these has increased enormously since I first published this book, but two still stand out:
Creative Job Search
This site, maintained by Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development, has put together the equivalent of a job-search manual. A superior example of the breed.

Career Development Manual
Here is another excellent guide — they call it an eManual — from the Career Center at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Its self-assessment section is one of the best on the Internet; naturally, the links throughout the site tend to be Canada-centric.

College Grad Job Hunter
Author Brian Krueger’s book, College Grad Job Hunter, though available in bookstores, is also available online. For free. The book is aimed at the college graduate, and emphasizes techniques to use when you have book learning, but not much real-world experience. He also points out that job-hunting is an experience that you should start preparing for before it happens, and there is a lot of good advice for all job hunters throughout. I think that some of his guerilla tactics are to be avoided, but this is a minor complaint; it’s a great online resource.
