AllDomains
Maybe you don't know anybody at the company you are interested in, and you can't seem to come up with a contact there at all. Assuming the company has a Web site, you can, as a kind of last resort, plug the company's Web site URL into AllDomains' search engine. It looks through the database of domain registrations and returns basic data about the company, usually including an "administrative contact". If it's a large company, the administrative contact may be the same as the technical contact, which may be just an IT manager or a trusted programmer in the IT department; but for smaller companies, you may have just gotten the name and contact info for the head guy, or somebody close to him. When you get your search results, ignore the message about -This domain is taken - of course it's taken, you knew that. The data you want is in the scrollable box at page center. For some domain returns, you have to scroll past the "terms of use" cautions to get to the data you want.

Whois Net
Similar to AllDomains, sometimes Whois works better. Note that Whois.net is different from Whois.com. Whois.net has more features.

Weddle's Professional Associations
Where are you likely to find those who are doing what you want to do? This is an excellent list of professional associations, from the site of one of the masters of the job-hunt and the Web.
